Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 September 2026

This policy explains how MHT Software (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use Cantuva at getcantuva.com and the Cantuva app.

We do not sell personal data. Questions: support@getcantuva.com.

1. Who we are

Cantuva is a visual workspace product developed and operated by MHT Software. The project is led by Mehmet Güzel and Merve Adıgüzel, with a seven-person development and support team.

For privacy requests, write to support@getcantuva.com or use the contact form on getcantuva.com/contact.

2. What this policy covers

It covers the public website, account registration, the canvas workspace, billing, collaboration, support messages, and product analytics. It does not cover third-party sites we link to, or content other people put on a shared canvas you join.

3. Information we collect

Account data: name, email address, password (stored as a hash by our authentication provider), locale, and profile settings.

Workspace content you create: canvases, notes, documents, tables, connectors, images, comments, templates, TalkTrack recordings, and similar objects you add to a board.

Workspace and team data: workspace names, membership, roles, invitations, and collaboration presence on shared boards.

Billing data: plan (Free, Pro, or Team), subscription status, and payment history. Card numbers are handled by our payment processor — we do not store full card details.

Usage and device data: pages you visit on the marketing site and in the app, session start and end, product events (for example opening a canvas or exporting), approximate location derived from IP for security and admin diagnostics, and browser or app type.

Support and mail: messages you send through the contact form or to support@getcantuva.com, and newsletter signup if you opt in.

4. How we use information

To provide the workspace: sign you in, sync canvases, enable collaboration, apply your plan, and send account email (verification, password reset, invitations).

To keep the service safe: detect abuse, debug errors, and protect accounts and workspaces.

To operate billing: start checkout, confirm payment, show invoices, and manage upgrades or cancellations.

To improve Cantuva: understand which parts of the product are used. We do not sell this data. Product analytics is event-based — not a recording of every pointer move.

To reply when you contact us or subscribe to product mail you asked for.

5. Storage, backups, and security

Live workspace and account data is stored in the cloud with access controls and encrypted connections (HTTPS).

We take hourly backups of Cantuva data both in the cloud and on physical servers. Those copies exist so we can restore service after an incident and keep your work recoverable.

Backup copies are treated as confidential. Access is limited to people who operate the service. Physical backup media stays under MHT Software’s control.

No backup system can promise zero data loss in every scenario. We design for recoverability and take hourly copies seriously; you should still export important boards when you need an extra local copy.

6. Who we share data with

We share data only with processors who help us run Cantuva: authentication and database hosting, file storage, payment processing, transactional email, and error or analytics infrastructure. They may process data only on our instructions.

If you invite someone to a workspace or open a shared canvas, they can see the content you share there.

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect users, the service, or someone’s safety. We do not sell personal data to advertisers or data brokers.

7. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, remember language (cantuva-locale), remember the marketing theme (cantuva-theme), and store editor preferences on your device.

You can clear cookies and site data in your browser. Doing so may sign you out or reset theme and language until you choose them again.

8. How long we keep data

We keep account and workspace data while your account is active. Hourly backups are retained long enough to restore recent history, then rotated.

If you delete a canvas, archive content, or close your account, we remove it from the live product. Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups until those backups expire.

Billing records may be kept as required for accounting and tax. Support emails are kept as long as needed to resolve your request.

9. Your rights

You can access and update profile details in the app, export canvas data where the product offers export, and delete canvases or your account.

You may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold, a correction, or deletion, subject to legal retention duties. Email support@getcantuva.com.

If you are in a region with additional privacy rights (including the EEA, UK, or Türkiye), you may also lodge a complaint with your local authority. We will still try to resolve the issue with you first.

10. Children

Cantuva is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 18, use the service only with a parent or guardian’s permission. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this page when the product or the law changes. The date at the top will change. Material changes will be called out here or by email when appropriate.

12. Contact

Privacy questions, access requests, and deletion requests: support@getcantuva.com. You can also write through getcantuva.com/contact.
